I recently finished reading a book by Joe LeSueur called "Digressions On Some Poems By Frank O'Hara". LeSueur and O'Hara were roommates for a long time so the book is full of very personal stories about the art and literary worlds of fifties and sixties New York. Right after I finished the book I saw this post on Dennis Cooper's blog, which includes a lot of people who appear in the book. Today's post features a whole slew of Frank O'Hara material. Here he is reading "Having a Coke With You".
A while ago I posted some anti-war fliers and an assortment of other political fliers from the Vietnam War era. I just came across a few more from the same collection that I didn't put up at the time. These are some of the oddballs that didn't fit in with the other posts.
Wounded Lion is a band from LA. I just saw their video on the WFMU blog. They have a record out on S-S Records. S-S is run by the guy who does Crud Crud. They have some songs up on their myspace page. I'm not into the song "Muppet Babies", but check it out anyway. This video is for a song called "Pony People". It was made by an artist named Brian Bress who is also worth checking out.
